Narkun faces stern test in first title defence at KSW 34

Poland’s Tomasz Narkun (11-2) captured the KSW light heavyweight at KSW 32 in London on Halloween when he impressively beat the experienced Goran Reljic. The 26-year-old stunned Reljic, and equally himself, with a career first KO win and thus avenging his loss to the Croatian 11 months prior.

KSW announced a few weeks ago that Narkun was to join Karol Bedorf and Artur Sowinski in defending their respective titles at KSW 34 on March 5th in Warsaw and this week his opponent was announced. The Pole will defend his title against the newly signed Brazilian Andre Muniz (13-3).

The 25-year-old comes in off the back of a seven-fight-win-streak including six submission wins in his past six fights. Muniz also has a win over Pride, WEC & WSOF veteran Paulo Filho on his resumé.

This fight could potentially be a clinic on the ground as both men come into this fight with a combined number of 19 submissions, that’s nearly an 85% submission rate. However, with Narkun’s last performance he might find confidence in his hands and look to keep this standing and all three of Muniz’s losses have come via TKO/KO. Neither man has been submitted.
