After a few weeks of slight teasing, the UFC have today announced that they are returning to Ireland on October 24th in Dublin’s 3Arena.
This event marks the very first time that the UFC will have came to Ireland in consecutive years. Last July they held UFC Fight Night 46 which has been universally praised as one of the UFC’s best events due to, in part, the Irish crowd in attendance.
Previous visits to the Emerald Isle include UFC 93 in 2009 and UFC 72 in 2007.
No fights have been announced but due to the plethora of Irish fighters competing in the next couple of weeks week can expect most of them to be on this card.
As for Conor McGregor, I wouldn’t hold my breath for another ‘Notorious’ headlined event. However, should he lose to Chad Mendes at UFC 189 then there could be the off chance that the UFC sees an event in Dublin as the perfect platform for McGregor to get back on track.
Tickets will go on general sale on Friday, September 4th.
