A couple of weeks ago I was talking with someone at the weigh-ins for a show here in Europe and the topic of conversation somehow lead to former UFC octagon girl Chandella Powell and here whereabouts.
There was a dark cloud cast around her departure with many saying it was due to her ‘soft porn’ past and the UFC’s disapproval of it (which can be viewed here just incase you are curious to know more, warning 18+ only).
Powell last made her appearance in the UFC around February 2012 although the exact date could not be found. But last weekend at UFC 171 the beauty appeared as a spectator and according to the great MMA Photography Tracy Lee the former ring girl “has been relaxing in the beautiful blue waters of the Bahamas playing full time mommy to her 10 month old son, Kyan.”
And of course Lee also asked is she would consider a return to which she jokingly replied, “Absolutely!! I’ll have Arianny watch Kyan as I walk around the Octagon.”
Alan’s Angle: It is good to know she is doing well. It is still unclear what happened and whether or not she was released, or fired, by the UFC. She made her departure roughly 24 months ago and if her son is 10 months old and a pregnancy term is 9 months that leaves out around 5 months unaccounted for, this rules out pregnancy as the reason for departure. The fact that she was at UFC 171 would suggest that she is still on good terms with the UFC.
