Two more Brits added to #UFCLondon

#UFCLondon has today received two more bout announcements, featuring two British fighters.

Brad “One Punch” Pickett (25-11-0) will be facing Henry “Brue” Briones (19-5-1) and Davey “Dangerous” Grant (8-2-0) will take on Marlon “Chito” Vera (7-2-1).

Pickett will be looking to replicate the result of the last time he fought at the 02, in which he scored a unanimous decision win over Neil Seery. Since then its been a rough road for “One Punch” and he has lost three fights on the bounce, although is back to fighting at Bantamweight for this fight.

Opponent Briones is himself coming off a loss against Cody Garbrandt at #UFC189 and is a very game opponent for Pickett with fourteen stoppages during his MMA career.

Davey Grant will be making his long awaited return to the UFC on this card having not competed since November 2013, losing to Chris Holdsworth. He has been plagued with injuries since then and will be looking to get back on the path to the top of the Bantamweight pile.

Submission expert Vera may only have nine bouts under his wings but has five submission victories and will be a tough challenge for a returning Grant. Worth noting that Vera has never been stopped in his career and is coming off a big win over Roman Salazar in August 2015.

Tony’s Thoughts;

The UFC can’t run a show in London without having Brad Pickett on it, and so I am very happy that we are getting to see Brad on the show. The odds will be stacked against him given his current run but I genuinely think that fighting at home will bring out the very best in him on fight night.

Very happy for Davey Grant to get a fight announced as well and it must be a huge relive for him. He was scheduled to fight at UFC London in 2013 but suffered an injury which forced him off the card. Keeping everything crossed for him and hopefully we get to see him make the walk.
