Watch out Rousey, it’s not just Cyborg and the whole UFC’s 135lbs women’s division after you, you also have the original UFC golden girl Arianny Celeste expressing a distaste for you.
The Octagon ring girl spoke with MMAJunkie Radio on Friday prior to the weigh-ins and had the following to say about the champ: “I don’t really like the way she carries herself. I don’t think she’s a good role model for women. I think that women should empower each other and give each other a little pat on the back.”
Arianny made her debut in the UFC in 2006 and has since become a massive part of the UFC’s visual appeal and has also carved out an impressive career for herself in doing so. Her popularity within the UFC and MMA spilled over into the mainstream and has appeared in countless magazine including Playboy.
It was that shoot with Playboy that triggered negative comments from Rousey regarding her doing a naked shoot for the world-famous magazine. “I’ve personally been talked about by her, and I don’t even know her. I’ve met her twice,” Arianny told MMAJunkie Radio.
Alan’s Angle: The negative comments from Rousey came a few months before her own near-naked photoshoot with ESPN. Arianny is a ring-girl who’s career is based around her sex appeal and when Playboy come knocking it would be a silly career move to reject them, unless of course you are sternly against women flaunting their assets, but if that was the case you wouldn’t be a ring girl. I guess you can say Rousey comes across as a hypocrite. The champ has split the crowd when it comes to her personality. Some people love her, some people dislike her and conflicts like these are bound to happen. Only one way to settle this….MUD FIGHT!!!
