Roger Huerta returns at ONE Championship 30

UFC and MMA veteran Roger Huerta (22-7-1, 1 NC) returns to action at ONE Championship 30 in Shanghai, China on September 1st.

‘El Matadar’ last fought at ‘ONE: Reign of Champions’ almost a year ago where he brutally knocked out the previously undefeated Christian Holley (10-2). It was Huerta’s first fight in over two and a half years.

Once the UFC’s posterboy, the 32-year-old will be looking to string together back to back wins for the first time since 2007. In his last fight he looked a different animal than he had done over the previous number of years.

He went on a 1-6 run between 2008 and 2012. Although in his favour he did fight guys like Kenny Florian, Gray Maynard, Eddie Alvarez and Pat Curran.

His opponent this time is former ONE title challenger Koji Ando (11-4-2). The 30-year-old recently had a fight-fight-winning streak snapped when he dropped a decision to Shinya Aoki in May. The Japanese fighter has notable wins over Rafael Nunes (10-1) and tough Australian Damien Brown (11-8).
