The UFC today confirmed via Twitter that Alexander Gustaffson’s teammate llr Latifi will face off against Cyrille Diabate when the promotion visits London in 2014 on March 8th.
It will be Latifi’s second fight with the promotion and he will be best remembered for standing in at the 11th hour when Alexander Gustafsson picked up an eye injury days before the UFC’s Sweden card earlier this year. His spirited and Rocky like performance against Gegard Mousasi was memorable for all the right reasons after he went the distance with an opponent who many felt should have dominated the proceedings.
Diabate, last seen when Jimi Manuwa caused an abrupt end to their fight, has alot to prove after limping away from that fight due to injury. Diabate vs Latifi is a welcome addition to the card and the stand up skills of both men will please the UK crowd who will be looking for a stand up war.
