Northern Ireland’s Norman Parke (20-3-1 MMA 4-1-1 UFC) has tonight taken to twitter to callout fellow UFC Lightweight fighter Joe Lauzon.
As you can see from the picture below it appears that Joe Lauzon blocked Norman on twitter and as a result has upset Stormin Norman who wants to settle any dispute in the Octagon.
It may result in nothing but Parke certainly seems fired up and perhaps looking to avenge his recent split decision loss to Gleison Tibau at UFC Boston. Parke has also said to Lauzon that he is also willing to make the trip across the pond to fight him.
Parke released the following statement on his facebook page “If it’s that personal you block me from ur Twitter Joe Lauzon.. Let’s sort this out 1 way, I was a fan of yours but now I will finish your UFC career!!! Do you accept my challenge!?? Ill even come over to America and do the no Problem! Rat!”
Tony’s Thoughts;
I personally think that it’s a great shout for Norman to call out a big name like Lauzon. He is coming off the back of a disappointing loss to Gleison Tibau in a fight which I expected him to win. So jumping right back in there with a big name like Lauzon will keep him in the public eye and keep him relevant in a very busy division. Lauzon is coming off a tough loss also having been knocked out by Al Iaquinta so will be looking to get a win under his belt. A very good matchup at 155lbs and tough for both fighters who both bring a very different offence to the Octagon with Parke possessing a strong Judo base, and Lauzon favouring an excellent ground game. Only time will tell if Parke’s bark is heard by the powers that be.
