One of the hardest hitters in all of Irish MMA makes his long anticipated return to the cage this weekend. Former EFC champ Henry Fadipe (8-8-1), who last fought almost a year to the day ago, steps back into the EFC ‘hexagon’ to take on Francois Kabulu (7-4).
In his last fight at EFC 32 Fadipe lost to Adam Speechly via unanimous decision and handed over the title he had captured just the fight before with a brutal first round KO win over Dino Bagattin.
Kabulu recently had a five-fight-win-streak snapped when he lost to Ireland’s Peter Queally via decision last November.
Fadipe has based himself out of Team Ryano, home of the UFC’s Neil Seery and Paul Redmond, but has also been working with a number of teams in and around Dublin to prepare for this fight.
He said he has been doing training sessions with Fantom MMA and Husaria, both gyms known for some tough Polish fighters and grapplers, with Alex Leite, a bjj blackbelt making his BAMMA debut soon, and his own gym with Johnathan Reid called D10 MMA.
One thing is for certain with Fadipe, he wants that title back and knows that a win over Kabulu will be the perfect catalyst towards another title push.
EFC 42 takes place August 8th from the Grandwest in Cape Town, South Africa.
