The UFC’s debut show in South Korea is shaping up to be a fairly star-studded event. Former lightweight champ Benson Henderson will face former welterweight title contender Thiago Alves in the main event in a welterweight contest.
Over the weekend it was announced that MMA royalty Mirko Cro Cop (31-11-2, 1 NC) will face Anthony Hamilton (14-4). Both fighters last competed on the same card in Poland earlier this year. Hamiltom beat Daniel Omielańczuk via unanimous decision to go 2-2 in the UFC. Cro Cop rolled back the years and implemented a fantastic gameplan to beat Gabriel Gonzaga via TKO in round 3.
In addition to the above mentioned fights we will also see the return of Yoshihiro Akiyama aka ‘Sexyama’ (14-5, 2 NC). The South Korean-Japanese fighter last fought in Japan last year beating Amir Sadollah via unanimous decision. He will face the undefeated Alberto Mina (11-0).
A very exciting welterweight contest between South Korean veteran Dong Hyun Kim (20-3-1, 1 NC), who has been a member of the UFC since 2008, and Jorge Masvidal (29-9) is also on the card.
UFC Fight Night 79 takes place from Seoul, South Korea on November 28th.
