Chris Fields takes on Michal Fijalka at KSW 40

Last week it was revealed that Irish MMA pioneer Chris Fields (11-7-1) had signed to compete on the inaugural KSW show in Ireland on October 22nd. And today it was announced that he will face dangerous finisher Michal Fijalka (16-6-1).

Fields was amongst the first wave of Irish fighters to make a splash internationally in the MMA world. After rising through the ranks and being involved in some of the most anticipated match-ups on the Irish scene, Fields won the Cage Warriors middleweight title in Amman, Jordan in 2012. Following on from this Fields remained one of the biggest names in Irish MMA and was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter Season 19.

33-year-old Fijalka returned to KSW last year after 8 years away from the promotion. In 2008 he won three fights in one night to win one of the early KSW tournaments. Of his 16 wins, he secured 13 by way of stoppage over some of Europe’s top light heavyweights and he will be looking to make that number 14 on October 22nd.

This exciting fight joins the likes of Maciej Jewtuszko vs. David Zawada, Michal Materla vs. Paulo Thiago, Mateusz Gamrot vs. Norman Parke, Mariusz Pudzianowski vs. James McSweeney and many more on the KSW 40 card at the 3Arena in Dublin.
