UK Middleweight Scott Askham signs for KSW

Earlier today it was revealed that highly ranked UK middleweight Scott Askham (15-4) signed a three-fight contract with KSW.

The 29-year-old fought six times for the UFC where he registered two first round KO finishes, one of which earned him ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. Following two back to back decision losses he was released from the promotion earlier this year. The former BAMMA champ then bounced back with decision win over fellow UK fighter and UFC vet Luke Barnatt this past September.

Now Askham and his loyal fans, known as the ‘Askham Army’, will come to the KSW arena. He is expected to make his promotional debut in early 2018 and no doubt he will have his eye on working towards the KSW middleweight title currently held by MMA legend Mamed Khalidov.

KSW co-owner Martin Lewandowski spoke of his excitement at the addition of Askham to the KSW roster: “I have been a fan of Scott for a long time now. He has so many memorable finishes throughout his career, his striking is just so dangerous. Over the years in KSW we have had some legendary fights at middleweight and I am sure Scott will create more exciting moments in this middleweight division.”

The KSW middleweight division also received an injection after former champ Michal Materla (25-5) returned after a lengthy layoff and finished UFC vet Paulo Thiago with punches at KSW 40 this past October in Dublin, Ireland.

KSW’s next event – KSW 41 – will take place December 23rd from Katowice, Poland and will feature welterweight champ Borys Mankowski (19-6-1) vs. top P4P South African fighter and two-weight EFC champ Dricus du Plessis (11-1) in the main event and an exciting heavyweight co-main event between infamous rapper Popek Monster (3-2) and famous Polish actor Tomasz Oswiecinski (0-0).

Also on the card Kleber Koike Erbst (22-4-1) will defend his featherweight title against the popular Artur Sowinski (18-8), Olympic medalist Damian Janikowski (1-0) faces former KSW champion Antoni Chmielewski (32-16), and a whole host of top talent.

KSW 41 will be available to view live around the world via online PPV at www.KSWTV.com.
