The on going battle between UFC champ Ronda Rousey and ring girl Arianny Celeste continues. While talking to MMAFighting.com about fighter pay, Rousey brought up the ring girls.
“I think that they should get paid more than the ring girls. And I don’t know if the ring girls get paid too much or the fighters don’t get paid enough. But yeah. There’s definitely a lot more in what the fighters do than what they do. So, I think that’s one thing that’s unfair.”
After a fan tweeted the story to Arianny Celeste she responded in a rather unusual way biting back at the champ.
I am not sure what she meant by “talk is cheap” but in the world of MMA that is said when one fighter is running their mouth and you want to fight them. I think Arianny realized this and seemingly back tracked on her aggressive tone with a number of follow-up tweets.
This “fued” began around 2012 when Rousey said the following in reply to a question asking about women outranking her on Maxim’s Hot 100.
“It would have been really funny if I’d beaten Arianny Celeste… Like, ‘Ha-ha, it’s your job to show your tits-I do that better than you!’ Maybe next year. She’s only getting older, and I’m reaching my prime.”
Arianny then responded by saying to MMAJunkie that she doesn’t believe that Rousey is a good role model.
“I don’t really like the way she carries herself, I don’t think she’s a good role model for women.”
