99 Problems and my walkout song is 1

With so many fights taking place each weekend it’s hard to keep track of all the walkout songs which we hear but below is a list of a few which stick out in my head for all the wrong reasons.

So let’s take a look at some of the more unique choices for entrance songs within the UFC;

Katy Perry – Roar

Miesha Tate has used the popular Katy Perry song, Roar as her entrance track in recent fights which in my opinion doesn’t fit with the whole fight vibe. But in a diverse industry like MMA I suppose it will become more and more common as WMMA takes more of a stronghold. Let’s just pray Britney Spears stays away from the Octagon.

Papa Roach – Last Resort

Dennis Siver is perhaps the only human being still listening to this song in 2015. The song featured on the band’s album in 1999 five years before Siver made his MMA debut. Time for an update Dennis?

Do you really want to hurt me – Culture Club

Perhaps not such a mad idea given Dave Herman’s rather odd personality but still a very bizarre song to get you pumped up when walking out to the cage. Not sure Boy George will be seen at a UFC event anytime soon.

Weird Al Yankovic – I’m Fat

A favourite of Heavyweight Roy “Big Country” Nelson who is always looking to entertain the fans. Nelson is a fan favourite and there is nothing better than him walking out to this song rubbing his belly. The song wasn’t a good omen for Nelson who lost two bouts when coming out to the song.

Ellie Golding – Lights

With both Bryan Caraway and his girlfriend on the list I don’t think I would like to attend a party at their house anytime soon. Caraway walked out to Ellie Golding at UFC on Fuel in Japan and luckily hasn’t gone back to it since. Let’s just hope it stays that way.
