Cage Warriors 74 took place back in November 2014 and we haven’t seen the promotion since, although in just over a weeks time they return to London with Cage Warriors 75.
The show takes place on 15th April at the Camden Centre in London, headlined by a Middleweight Title fight between Champion Jack Hermansson and challenger Alan Carlos.
But given the amount of time the promotion has been away for, the good folks at #WHOATV thought we would fill you in on where the Cage Warriors roster, who are fighting on the upcoming card have been honing their skills since they last graced the Cage Warriors cage;
Jack “The Joker” Hermansson (11-2 MMA)
Record since last CW performance – 2-0
Achievements since last CW performance – WFS Middleweight Title
Hermansson last competed under the Cage Warriors banner back at Cage Warriors 71 in Amman, Jordan where he defended his Cage Warriors Middleweight Title for the first time against Deyan Topalski. Since Cage Warriors disappeared off the scene in November 2014, Hermansson picked up the Warrior Fight Series Middleweight Title in an impressive fashion over Karlos Vemola. Hermansson was scheduled to compete at Lion Fighting Championship in November 2015 but an injury to his opponent saw that bout scrapped and “The Joker” was next in action in December 2015 in Italy for Venator, in which he scored a unanimous decision win over Maciej Rozanski. Hermansson is now scheduled to defend his Cage Warriors Middleweight Title for the second time in the main event of Cage Warriors 75 against Alan Carlos.
Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett
Record since last CW performance – 2-0
Achievements since last CW performance – FCC Featherweight Title
Pimblett competed on Cage Warriors 73 at the start of November 2014, scoring a TKO win over Stephen Martin to pick up his third win on the bounce for Cage Warriors. Since then, Pimblett became FCC Featherweight Champion in his debut for the promotion with a submission victory over Kevin Petshi. He defended his Title at FCC 13, again by submission win and was scheduled to fight Teddy Violet at FCC 14 but the bout fell through. Pimblett is now set to take on Ashleigh Grimshaw in the co-main event of Cage Warriors 75 and Pimblett will be keen to get his name back in the mix for the Cage Warriors 145lbs Title.
Darren “The Dentist” Stewart
Record since last CW performance – 3-0
Achievements since last CW performance – Killacam Light Heavyweight Title
Darren Stewart has been a force in the 205lbs division since his debut back in June 2014 and after going 2-0 in Cage Warriors has spent time with Warrior Fight Series and Killacam Fight Night. Stewart spent his first post Cage Warriors fight against Lloyd Clarkson, going to decision for the first time in his professional career. He competed after that for the Killacam Light Heavyweight strap and put on a monstrous performance against Carl Kinslow to pick up his first Title belt. Stewart successfully defended the belt in December 2015 against Gregory Pierre and will now take on fellow 205lber James Hurrell on the main card of Cage Warriors 75.
James Hurrell
Record since last CW performance – 0-0
Light Heavyweight James Hurrell will be keen to get back into the cage after spending the whole of 2015 on the sidelines. Hurrell was due to compete on two occasions but both were cancelled which left him having not competing since the last Cage Warriors show. Hurrell has a 100% stoppage rate in his seven wins with six by TKO and his most recent by submission over Carl Kinslow. Cage Warriors 75 will be the third outing for the Hurrell under the Cage Warriors banner and he will be keen to improve on his 1-1 record when he faces Darren Stewart.
Brad “The Crazy Kid” Wheeler
Record since last CW performance – 2-0
Achievements since last CW performance – Warrior Fight Series Lightweight Title
Brad Wheeler was due to fight on Cage Warriors 74 against John Maguire but due to an issue with Maguire’s weight cut, the bout was cancelled and so you have to rewind back to June 2014 to when Wheeler last competed for the promotion. Wheeler spent two fights away from Cage Warriors with Warrior Fight Series, first up stopping Kes Mamba by TKO before defeating Jefferson George in a Lightweight contest to take George’s 155lbs Title. Wheeler returns to Cage Warriors against Scott Clist at Cage Warriors 75 and “The Crazy Kid” will be looking to build on his six fight win streak.
Chris Fishgold
Record since last CW performance – 2-1-1
Fishgold hasn’t graced a Cage Warriors cage since December 2013 and was due to compete in May 2014 but suffered an injury forcing him off the card. Since then he travelled to Taiwan to fight at Pro Fighting 10 and suffered a unanimous decision loss, then fought to a draw in Newcastle at Made 4 The Cage against Ryan Roddy. After a couple of bumps in the road for Fishgold, he has since picked up two stoppage wins under the Ice FC banner and returns to the Cage Warriors Lightweight mix against Jordan Miller.
