Whats next for the Brits from KSW 32?

With KSW’s first event in England under their belt it was overall a very successful evening for the British fighters competing at Wembley Arena.

Wins for James McSweeney, Jimmy Wallhead and Oli Thompson saw the Brits go 3-1 against some very tough opposition.

So with KSW done and dusted #WHOATV have looked at what could potentially be next for McSweeney, Wallhead, Thompson & Winner. Sit back and enjoy;

James McSweeney Vs Kimbo Slice at Bellator

McSweeney looked solid in his win at KSW securing a submission win over fellow kickboxer Marcin Rozalski snapping a two fight losing streak. With McSweeney back to winning ways why not rekindle TUF Season ten and throw him in there with Kimbo Slice? McSweeney has a lot more experience in the cage than Kimbo but if Bellator are looking for another opponent for one of their biggest draws then look no further than McSweeney. You can always be guaranteed that he will bring excitement to a fight and is always great at building up a fight with his pre fight interviews. Kimbo Vs McSweeney may not do “Slice/Shamrock” numbers but I don’t see any harm with Bellator putting the fight on, perhaps in their first venture to the UK?

Jimmy Wallhead Vs Paul Daley at BAMMA

“Judo” Jimmy has looked awesome since his loss to Danny Roberts at CWFC 68 picking up three stoppage wins on the bounce against some tough competition. A Welterweight encounter against fellow Brit Paul Daley would be sure to bring fireworks and I am sure that a promotion like BAMMA whom both fighters have a history with would be more than accommodating to but on a bout of this size. Daley is undoubtedly only a few wins away from a BAMMA Welterweight Title shot and a win over Wallhead would only further support his claim for a shot at the gold. The bout would be a great test for both Brits who are both two of the top European 170lbs fighters right now.

Andre Winner Vs Brad Wheeler for the WFS Lightweight Title

Whilst Winner is coming off a loss at KSW his stock is still high and he is without a doubt a one of the best Lightweight fighters in the UK. A Lightweight Title bout with current WFS Lightweight Champion Brad Wheeler would certainly be a great scrap and a very entertaining bout for sure. Wheeler is currently riding a six fight win streak and adding a seventh win to that streak over a name like Winner’s would all but confirm his status as one of the best at 155lbs in the UK. For Winner the bout would serve as a very solid test to him coming off a tough decision loss and the opportunity at winning gold is always enticing.

Oli Thompson to enter the HW Tournament on New Year’s Eve

Whilst it hasn’t yet been officially announced, the rumours are that there will be a Heavyweight Tournament at the first Rizin FF show later this year. The tournament is proposed to take place across two nights (29th and 31st December) and with Thompson currently riding a four fight win streak why not get him involved? The only thing which could put a spanner in the works is the significance of the injuries he sustained at KSW in which he was busted open pretty significantly. Hopefully nothing too bad as I feel that Thompson would definitely be able to fly the flag and do the Brit’s proud over in Japan.
