Nate Diaz shocked the MMA world last night at #UFC196 by stopping Conor McGregor in the second round of their Welterweight clash and made former Lightweight Champion, Frankie Edgar one very happy man.
Edgar has been rallying for a shot at McGregor ever since Jose Aldo withdrew from his first arranged bout with McGregor at UFC 189.
Since then Edgar, who is on a five fight win streak has been hot on the heels of “The Notorious” one and you can see in the video below the jubilation following Diaz’s submission of McGregor. It is now likely that the Featherweight Champion will return to the division to defend his belt and Edgar is definitely the front runner to welcome McGregor back to 145lbs.
