Venator FC adds more big names for its May event

It seems as though Venator FC are aiming to compete with the biggest and best promotions in Europe, evidenced by the big names they are bringing in for Venator 3 on 21st May.

Earlier last week the promotion announced that Luke Barnatt would fight Jason Miller for Barnatt’s Middleweight strap and they have announced some more big fights today.

Former UFC, Bellator, WEC, Pride, Strikeforce and Dream veteran Sokoudjou (16-14 MMA) will take on Matt Hamill (12-6 MMA) in a Light Heavyweight bout.

The UK’s own Che Mills (16-8 MMA) will also be making his return to the cage against Roberto Rigamonti (4-2-1 MMA) in a Welterweight clash.

Tony’s Thoughts;

Great to see some more big names added to Venator but let’s hope they are able to maintain this momentum and not disappear into the apocalypses in a few shows time. For me shows should be about quality over quantity but their model appears to be working to date so lets hope things work out for them.

It’s a great opportunity for UK fans to get to see some big names all fighting on the same card and the likes of Sokoudjou and Miller are definitely likely to bring in a big crowd for the promotion.

Che Mills is always in exciting bouts and I look forward to seeing his return after a long way away from the sport and hope that we see a rejuvenated Mills who at 170lbs is a scary dude.
