BAMMA today announced a change to the BAMMA 34: Lohore Vs. Brazier fightcard that sees a new World Title fight added to the Main card of the event.
With Mike ‘Seabass’ Shipman having to withdraw from the BAMMA 34 main card due to injury, the bout between RDX Champion Tim Barnett and Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee has been elevated to the main card. The bout is now for the vacant BAMMA World Lightweight Title made available when Ryan Scope was snapped up by Bellator.
Tim Barnett (5-0) is on a win streak in the BAMMA Lightweight Division. The Liverpudlian shocked the Belfast crowd in attendance at BAMMA 28: Parke Vs Redmond, when he stepped in on late notice and dethroned reigning champ Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee in front of his crowd. He followed this up by KOing the more experienced challenger in Mario ‘Rudeboy’ Saeed at BAMMA 29. Fighting out of the MMA Academy Liverpool under the watchful eye of UFC veterans Mike Wootten and Jason Tan, Barnett goes from strength to strength in each and every fight he competes in.
Rhys ‘Skeletor’ McKee (6-1-1) had a sensational fight of the year candidate with Richie Smullen at BAMMA 30: Philpott Vs. Walsh in July end in a draw, and the Next Generation Northern Ireland standout went on to defeat Kams Ekpo via submission in his next bout. This finish won him the title of ‘Submission of the year’ in the 2017 BAMMA Awards. McKee now ventures from Northern Ireland once again, to take on the only man to have scored a victory over him.
BAMMA 34: Lohore Vs. Brazier takes place at the SSE Arena, Wembley, London on Friday 9th March. Tickets are on sale now from bamma.com
