THE ALMOST DEFINITIVE GUIDE

The UFC’s Encyclopedia, written by Thomas Gerbasi is a lovingly crafted 399 page fan experience. Released in 2011 the manual features facts, stats and other nuggets that even the most avid observer of the sport might have missed.

Ok, so it was released a few years back, what makes it so valuable today? Not only is it a timely reminder of the wealth of talent that have passed through the UFC’s roster but it also serves as an education to those new to the sport with its insight into past KO victories, amazing submissions and the insights into past seasons of The Ultimate Fighter.

It’s not without it’s faults namely the obvious omission of Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley and the non existence of fighter interviews through out the 100’s of pages.

However, the pictures are enticing as are additional sections that detail past fight cards. With Xmas looming fast it’s definitely one for the avid UFC fan of the family or why not just be self indulgent and treat your darn self.
