Yes you read right folks, Cole Miller is injured and out of his fight with Conor McGregor at the UFC in Dublin. Luckily enough the Irishman has a long lost of fighters clasping for a crack at him and the one that has been selected is Brazilian fighter Diego Brandao.
UFC.com revealed that Miller “tore ligaments in his thumb” during a training session and is now in a full cast.
Diego Brandao (pictured below) and McGregor have exchanged words in the past with the Brazilian saying he would happily face the Irishman as a response to his coach John Kavanagh’s suggestion that the pair should square off.
The 27-year-old winner of TUF is 18-9 in his MMA career and 4-2 in the UFC. He was last in action in a KO loss to fellow McGregor ‘admirer’ Dustin Poirier last December.
Alan’s Angle: This should prove to be a much better visually pleasing fight for the casual MMA fans that will be showing up to see McGregor fight in Dublin. Miller I a grappler while Brandao is more of a stand-up brawler and, while I am sure it doesn’t bother McGregor who he is fighting in Dublin, this should be a welcome change to the card for fight fans.
