Former KSW middleweight champion Michal Materla (26-6), one of the biggest names in the sport in Poland, has been added to KSW 45: The Return To Wembley at The SSE Arena, Wembley on October 6.
Materla is on a 4-1 run since dropping the title to Mamed Khalidov at KSW 33 with all four wins coming via stoppage, including devastating knockout finishes over Rousimar Palhares and Paulo Thiago.
The 34-year-old suffered a shock defeat to Scott Askham at KSW 42 buckling to some thumping body kicks from the Englishman early in the first round. It was a quick turnaround though for Materla as just three months later at KSW 44 he jumped back into action again with a clinical performance against tough European veteran Martin Zawada, finishing him in the second round.
Materla joins infamous rapper Popek Monster, Scott Askham, Olympic bronze medallist Damian Janikowski, and famous fitness coach Akop Szostak as names already announced for KSW’s long anticipated return to London. An opponent will be revealed in the coming weeks.
