Bellator has lost one of its most anticipated match ups from its card that takes place next week Friday. Flamboyant welterweight Michael “Venom” Page has been forced to withdraw from what many were billing as the toughest test of his career. The Daily Telegraph first broke the story, reporting that Page had sustained a knee injury in training.
Fans will undoubtedly be dissapointed that Page, who is coming off a rather lackluster split decision win over Fernando Gonzalez at Bellator 165 last November, is no longer able to appear. He had built up a head off steam in his constant call outs of Paul Daley who will deliver his opinion of Page’s withdrawal in a piece being penned by yours truly to be published via Bloody Elbow.
Bellator 179 takes place at The SSE Arena headlined by Paul Daley and Rory MacDonald who will be slugging it out for a title shot and so each will have everything to play for.
