Mad Dog back in the UFC after 14 month stint in prison

Reza ‘Mad Dog’ Madadi (13-3) has been re-signed by the UFC according to a video posted on his Facebook page.

“I just want to tell all the haters I am back. I am back again in the UFC. Stronger than ever. And all the people who support me, I love you much. I swear I am going to show you the Mad Dog way,” he said in the video.

The Swedish/Iranian fighter had been released from prison in March after serving 14 months due to his alleged role in an aggravated burglary. Although Madadi has always maintained his innocence and recently recounted his side of the story to MMAFighting.com.

“I had my car outside of that garage and I wanted to pick up my car, because we wanted to go to Russia, me and some guys from my club, Allstars gym. They arrested me outside of that garage because the garage was involved in that smash and grab. And I never thought I was going to go to jail.”

Madadi was last in action at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Sweden back in April 2013. Now over two years later and at 36-years-old the hard hitting fighter will be looking to emulate his standout performance against Michael Johnson as he enters this stage of his career and life.

No word has been given yet as to when he will be making his comeback fight but I wouldn’t rule out UFC Scotland in July.
