Former UFC fighter and BAMMA Title contender Brendan Loughnane has announced his return to the cage.
Loughnane who last competed at FCC in March picking up a win over UFC veteran David Lee, will be returning to action to fight fellow Manchester based fighter Eden Newton.
The pair have been going back and forth for some time and the bout has now been announced to take place on 13th August at the Manchester Warehouse at a 155lbs.
Loughnane (a Tanko Management fighter) comes into the bout off the back of a win over David Lee which took place at FCC in March this year.
Newton comes into the fight on a four fight win streak which includes a victory over Jordan Desborough and a win under Ice FC which took place in November.
Via a press release by the promotion Loughnane had the following to say about the bout;
“I’m looking forward to fighting in my home city again – I’ve taken this fight whilst we finalise details of my next big bout. It will be great to put an end to Eden and his boasts that he can beat me. He has proven slippery to pin down but I’m confident I can knock him out in the octagon. There is only so many times someone can call you out before you have to take the fight and put an end to their claims.”
“I’m confident I can end him quickly in the octagon and know I can put on a great show for the home fans. He is just a small hurdle on my way to bigger opponents. I hope Eden and the fans get the fight they desperately want to see. This fight has been almost 10 years in the making.”
