No.9 ranked UFC welterweight Gunnar “Gunni” Nelson will take on Alan “Brahma” Jouban in the co-main event of UFC FIGHT NIGHT: MANUWA vs. ANDERSON, which takes place on Saturday, March 18 in London, England.
Nelson (15-2-1; fighting out of Reykjavik, Iceland) comes into the bout following a round two submission win over Albert Tumenov in May 2016. Jouban (15-4-0; fighting out of Los Angeles, California), meanwhile, will be looking to make this his fourth win in a row, the most recent of which came via unanimous decision against Mike Perry in December 2016.
This will be the third time in his UFC career that adopted Irishman Nelson will fight in the English capital. The welterweight, originally from Iceland, will undoubtedly be hoping that fans from across Ireland – where he trains alongside UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor – will make the short journey to support him.
UFC FIGHT NIGHT®: MANUWA vs. ANDERSON will take place at The O2 in London and will be headlined by a five round light heavyweight bout between No. 5 ranked Jimi “Poster Boy” Manuwa and No.7 ranked Corey “Overtime” Anderson.
