For the final time this year we’ll take a look at the fight which we feel stands out from the obvious choices on offer at UFC 219 on a card which sees Holy Holm clash with Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino.
The display of relish on show when this fight was signed spoke volumes for the violence that will be unleashed when the two meet on 30 December in what will be the UFC’s final show of the year.
Bout agreement signed you dumb fuck, I wanted you.

Diakiese, coming off his first loss, hasn’t lost any of the verbose attitude, as well as phenomenal skill obviously that has got him this far. It’s refreshing to see that even after being handed his first ‘L’ Diakiese is displaying all of his usual attributes in the run up to this clash. It is definitely business as usual in the ‘Bonecrusher’ camp.
Dan Hooker, coming of his spectacular KO of Ross Pearson, is the more seasoned and experienced opponent that Diakiese has faced. Diakiese has the hunger and drive that could possibly slightly overwhelm ‘The Hangman’ when they come face to face. It’s unlikely that ‘Bonecrusher’s’ loss will have pushed him back to his safer tactics he was known for earlier in his career. He is a spectacular finisher and the Brit fan favourite will no doubt be bringing the usual toolkit of acrobatic kicks, multiple attacks and probably a few new tools to secure the win.
With UFC London just around the corner a quick win or one which leaves Diakiese relatively unscathed will hopefully set up a clash with rival Stevie Ray who hasn’t had a call from the UFC since his spectacular loss via KO exacted by Paul Felder earlier this year. Ray vs Diakiese would be an amazing start to the year for both men and a fight that will put to bed their long standing beef.
