Irish middleweight and TUF veteran Chris Fields (10-6-1) has received a new opponent BAMMA 21 on June 13th in Birmingham, England.
The 31-year-old was originally set to face Marcin Prostko but the Polish fighter has been ruled out according to a press release from the promotion.
In his place will be France’s Christopher Jacquelin (6-2), who has a dangerous submission game winning five of six vistories via submission, all of which were in the first round. He did lose his last match in March losing by submission himself to Maciej Rozanski (6-0).
Fields had returned to the cage this past February at BAMMA 18 after over 18 months out of action, although he had competed on The Ultimate Fighter with teammate Cathal Pendred in between then. It wasn’t a triumphant comeback for Fields however as he suffered a devastating TKO loss just 23 seconds into his fight with Cheick Kone (see here), his first TKO loss in nearly six years.
Fields is 1-3-1 in his past five fights and will be seeking to get back to winning ways with this fight and attempt to make a run at BAMMA middleweight gold.
