Fantasy Island – Who is next for The Sniper?

Walter “The Sniper” Gahadza is one of the latest editions to the BAMMA Welterweight roster and as speculation begins as to who and when he will be making his debut for the promotion, WHOATV’s Tony Quant dissects five potential matchups for “The Sniper”;

Ryan Scope – Well in my eyes this fight needs to happen at some point in the future so why not make it now? These two have no love lost for each other and in my eyes are two of the best Welterweights in the country right now. Both have been out of late with injury but all things being well they will hopefully both be in a position to fight in December at BAMMA 17 and I think this fight would be a great co-main event. Either of these guys could be a BAMMA Champion next year and this fight could serve as a title eliminator.

Danny Mitchell – There has been no word on where “The Cheesecake Assassin” will be fighting since his unfortunate release from the UFC and BAMMA would be stupid to not try and add him to their roster. Mitchell will be a great asset to whatever promotion is able to snap him up and I think he would make a very interesting opponent for “The Sniper”. The nicknames alone sell this fight god dammit! For me it would be a great test for Walter and also for Mitchell to prove that he still has a lot of fight left in him.

Wayne Murrie – Murrie has been out of action since losing his title to Leon Edwards at BAMMA 15 but “The Caveman” could be a very real test for Gahadza who himself has been out with injury. There is absolutely no shame in losing to Leon Edwards and Murrie will be keen to get back to winning ways as soon as he can whilst keeping a high level of opponent, something Gahadza can certainly offer him. We could certainly be in for a great stand up war if these two 170lbers collided.

Shaun Taylor – Taylor like Murrie also suffered a loss to Leon Edwards in his last bout but could be a very exciting match up for a returning Gahadza. Prior to the Edwards fight, “The Disgrace” had a perfect 7-0 record with only one of those fights going to decision. That record earnt him a title shot in his first BAMMA fight and with a vacant title up for grabs the winner of this one could certainly stake a claim for a future title shot.

Matus Laincz – Slovakian Matus Laincz could be a real test for a returning Gahadza and is currently riding an eleven fight win streak. When I spoke to Gahadza last month he felt that BAMMA may look to give him an introduction fight to get him back into the swing of things and while Laincz may not have the same draw as the four fighters listed above the Kosicie Top Team fighter definitely would not be a nice welcome back to the cage.

So there are five tough challengers who would all be a tough welcoming to BAMMA for Walter Gahadza. Let me know your thoughts on who you would like to see Gahadza fight in his first BAMMA bout on our facebook page facebook.com/whoatv or on twitter @mmanarchy
