#UFC200 now has a main event and that is Nate Diaz Vs Conor McGregor 2 at 170lbs.
The pair met at #UFC196 on 5th March during which Nate Diaz, who took the fight on 11 days notice, was able to secure a second round submission win over the current UFC Featherweight Champion.
The rematch was highly speculated and has now been made official by the UFC who have also confirmed another huge bout for the show.
Former Featherweight Champion, Jose Aldo will go up against Frankie Edgar in a rematch of their bout from #UFC156, this time for an interim version of the Featherweight Strap.
The winner of that fight will be expected to face McGregor down the line but with McGregor competing at 170lbs against Diaz in the main event many will question whether or not “The Notorious” one will drop back down to 145lbs.
Tony’s Thoughts;
Well lets be honest it was the worst kept secret in MMA which has now been made official so we shouldn’t all act like we didn’t know it wasn’t going to happen. But I still prefer McGregor Vs Edgar.
For me it seems like McGregor still has the bargaining chips and power to control what he wants to happen which rightly or wrongly is a great place for him to be in and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets past Nate that a future bout with Nate’s brother Nick wasn’t where things are heading.
But you have to feel for Edgar who has won five on the bounce against the best in the division and now has to fight the guy who handed him his last loss, but there is a story to be sold there I suppose.
