CW90 kick starts an amazing year for the promotion

The stars of CW90 descended on Liverpool to face off at the IsoSport weigh-ins before their bouts tomorrow night. CW90 will kick start what looks to be a huge year for Cage Warriors, topped by a main event between Molly McCann and Bryony Tyrell for the world flyweight title.

Tickets for the event are LIMITED but still available via the Echo Arena website, with multiple higher-tier sections having been opened up due to demand.

The Echo Arena will also play host to a huge redemption fight for Liverpool’s own Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett, alongside a stacked card full of local heroes and high-profile international challengers from across Europe. The IsoSport weigh-ins passed largely without incident, with fifteen out of sixteen professional fighters making their contracted weights.

Title challenger Molly McCann, a fighter renowned for her heavy hands, non-stop pace and ferocious fight style, took to the scales at 124.8 lbs. Her opponent, multiple time national and European champion across multiple fight styles, came in at 123.3 lbs. Our CW90 main event for the vacant world flyweight title is official, and looks to be a fight for the ages.

Our co-main event fighters tipped the scales without complication, with Liverpool’s Lawrence Fitzpatrick making 154.5 lbs and Norway’s Alexander Jacobsen weighing in at 155.3 lbs. This international battle will see two hard-hitters with dynamic striking and legitimate knockout power clash for the opportunity to move one step closer to title contention.

Paddy Pimblett, arguably one of the hottest European prospects outside of the UFC, tipped the scales at 154.8 lbs for his first move to the Lightweight division. His opponent Alexis Savvidis, a solid grappler with over twenty fights to his name at just 22 years of age, came in at 152.6 lbs. ‘The Baddy’ fancies his odds in this one, offering Savvidis a bet which could see the loser of the fight shaving their head. It’s yet to be confirmed whether Alexis accepted! Pimblett vs Savvidis opens up our main card from 9pm, ensuring incredible scenes right from the minute we go live.

In the heavyweight division, local favourite Shawn Kenny took to the scales at 239.4 lbs, with his opponent Ruben Wolf coming in at 247.1 lbs. This is one you won’t want to blink for, as one of these fighters hopes to add another impressive win to their resume on the biggest event of their careers with a knockout.

That concludes our main-card IsoSport weigh ins for CW90.
