CM Punk to walk out with Anthony Pettis tonight

Tonight we will see CM Punk make his first walk to the Octagon as he will accompany champion Anthony Pettis during his walkout in tonight’s UFC 185 main event.

Pettis confirmed the news to Ariel Helwani that the former WWE superstar would indeed walk out with him.

“Yes, he will be walking with me out to the cage. He’s not going to corner me, obviously. He still has some stuff to learn. He offered to come out and I think having as many people out here as possible helps me feel comfortable, feel like I’m back at home. He’s a very cool guy. He’s so humble.”

Alan’s Angle: This is part of Punk’s learning process and a good idea for everyone involved, Punk gets a glimpse of what it is like, UFC have a star appear at their show and Pettis gets more eyes on him. I also remember Pettis talking about Punk’s first sparring session and they set it up like a fight in the gym with walkouts as if it were a real fight in order to simulate the pressure and environment. Punk has had zero amateur fights so they are trying to give him a crash course in everything associated with the fight game.
