Geordie Shore star Aaron ‘The Joker’ Chalmers makes his return at BAMMA London against his newly announced opponent Alex Thompson. Also added to the BAMMA fight card is local rising star Tanvir Boora, as he is set to face Liam Davies.
Aaron ‘The Joker’ Chalmers silenced some of his harshest critics in his debut at BAMMA 29, proving that this wasn’t just a publicity stunt and that he is totally committed to the sport of MMA. He not only took the fight to Greg Chalmers, but displayed a confident style for somebody taking part in their pro debut. With his first pro bout now completed, Chalmers has the harder task of proving that his debut was no fluke.
Standing across from him this time will be Alex Thompson. Thompson has been plying his trade on the amateur circuit for a few years now and will make his Welterweight pro debut against Chalmers. September 15th will show the country whether the TV star can rise to the challenge once again or whether Thompson will stop the hype train surrounding the popular Geordie Shore cast member in it’s tracks.
Hugely popular local fighter Tanvir Boora will make his BAMMA debut at the SSE Arena, Wembley as he takes on Liam Davies. Having recently made a big impact in India earlier this year, Boora now joins the BAMMA London fight card in the hottest event of the summer. His super aggressive opponent Liam Davies will be looking for another controlled performance, as he makes his way to the nation’s capital for the showdown with Boora.
Aaron ‘The Joker’ Chalmers (1-0) returns at BAMMA London after a successful debut at BAMMA 29: McDermott Vs. Wolf in Birmingham back in May. Training with the likes of former BAMMA Lonsdale Welterweight Champion Leon ’Rocky’ Edwards at UTC Gym, he proved to the world that this wasn’t a side project or a publicity stunt. With a background in Muay Thai in which he has trained in from a young age, he now is looking to improve on his impressive start with another victory and further his career in his newly chosen sport.
Alex Thompson (Debut) is no stranger to BAMMA, having previously competed at the BAMMA Invitational tournament in 2016 at the Bodypower Expo – this will mark his second appearance for the promotion but his first pro bout. Training at AVT, Thompson’s amateur record stood at 2-4. Training under the likes of Jay Furness & Danny ‘The Cheesecake Assassin’ Mitchell, Thompson will be ready to take the spotlight off Chalmers and kick his pro career off in style.
Tanvir Boora (2-0) is another BAMMA newcomer that trains out of DFC in Gravesend, Kent and has worked alongside the likes of Charlie Boy Howard. Making an impact on his pro debut in India in February, Boora now looks to bring his technical high flair style to the BAMMA Cage at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
Liam Davies (2-0) is an ultra agressive grappler with heavy hands. Training out of Blackledge MMA, he has swept past his first two opponents, both in the first round via submission. The 35 year old will be looking to secure a solid victory over the very credible Boora and move on in his career and up the Featherweight ladder.
BAMMA London takes place at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Friday 15th September and tickets are on sale now
