The crowds descended on the Echo Arena to see hometown favorite Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett defend his featherweight strap but were silenced by a stellar performance from Bristol’s Nad Narimani that enabled him to walk away as the Cage Warriors featherweight world champion.
Narimani seemed oblivious that was he was indeed in Pimblett’s back yard at the Echo Arena and presented a fairly one sided performance over five rounds. Composed, calm and calculated, Narimani’s relentless pressure enabled him to claim a unanimous decision victory (48-47, 49-46, 50-45) after the judges returned their scores.
Following Namrimani’s victory, whilst there were many reactions to the newly crowned featherweight champion and the defeated Pimblett, none spoke more loudly than Brendan Loughnane who gave his opinion via his Twitter account.
