Cage Warriors continues its mission to showcase and develop MMA across the continent with a return to Antwerp’s Lotto Arena on June 16th, in partnership once again with top Belgian sports broadcaster Eleven Sports.
November 25th, 2017 was a monumental night for European mixed martial arts. Thousands of fans packed out the Lotto Arena in Antwerp to witness Cage Warriors 89 – the biggest and most explosive MMA event Belgium had ever seen – with the show being such a success that the promotion have announced a return this summer. On June 16th, Cage Warriors and Eleven Sports come together to stage CW94, and promise an even bigger, better showcase than before.
“Our last trip to Belgium was hugely successful for both the sport of MMA and for Cage Warriors’ partnership with Eleven Sports. The scenes inside the Lotto Arena were too special for us not to return,” says Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “We are committed to Belgium and will work with the great gyms in both Flanders and Wallonia to put Belgian MMA right at the top of the European scene. We can’t wait to see what we can do this time around.”
The last time Cage Warriors hit Antwerp, a new heavyweight champion was crowned, two of the best welterweights in the world went head-to-head and local heroes Cindy Dandois, Ben Dandois and Tommy Depret were victorious in front of thousands of home fans. Whatever happens on June 16th, it’s sure to be unmissable, and will mark another step forward for mixed martial arts in the region.
With this announcement coming just weeks after Cage Warriors announced a return to Scandinavia for CW93 in Gothenburg, Sweden on April 28th, it is clear that the promotion are delivering on their commitment to becoming the ultimate proving ground for MMA athletes across Europe.
