Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski is back in the UFC.
Dana White announced the news on his personal Twitter account after rumours spread during the week that the promotion were interested in re-signing the Belarusian knockout artist.
Arlovski (21-10-1NC MMA, 10-4 UFC) hasn’t fought for the UFC since 2008, but following stints in outside-promotions and going 6-1 (with one no contest) in his last 8 fights — Arlovski finds himself back in the big show.
It’s an impressive turn around for the fighter who went on a 4 fight losing streak in Strikeforce. Many people thought that was the end for the one-time heavyweight great, but he managed to turn it around with wins over the likes of Mike Kyle, Devin Cole and Travis Fulton.
No details of the contract have emerged as of yet, and no date has been set for the Jackson MMA product’s return to the octagon.
