Walsh puts Bantamweight Title on line against “The Firekid” at BAMMA 25

BAMMA have today announced that Shay Walsh will make his first BAMMA Bantamweight Title defence against the current BAMMA Featherweight Champion, Tom Duquesnoy at #BAMMA25.

Duquesnoy made the cut down to Bantamweight at #BAMMA24 and stopped the super tough Damien Rooney in devastating fashion and is now handed the opportunity to become a two weight Champion at BAMMA.

Walsh will be looking to put a halt to any multi weight Championship’s for Duquesnoy and is coming off the back of an outstanding performance, outpointing former Champion Ed Arthur by unanimous decision.

Tony’s Thoughts’

WHOA! BAMMA are really pulling out all of the big guns for this show and it doesn’t get much bigger than Walsh Vs Duquesnoy, what a fight.

Duquesnoy did deliver on his promise and stopped Rooney at #BAMMA24 but I think its key to remember that he didn’t make weight on the first attempt and although he managed to cut it with the additional hour its certainly something to bear in mind when he meets Walsh. Walsh is a veteran at making 135lbs so you have to favour the Champion in that regards on fight night.

Walsh is definitely one of the toughest tests for “The Firekid” in my eyes and I don’t think Tom should be overlooking his opponent coming into this one. On the flipside you can definitely agree that Duquesnoy has ramped up his level of opponents in his last two fights taking on two very tough guys in Rooney and Loughnane so he will definitely be ready to meet Walsh head on when the pair clash.
