Bellator have today confirmed to WHOA TV that a 150lbs addition to its London prelim card has been made. A matchup has been arranged between UK based Canadian Jeremy ‘Ninja’ Petley (12-8-0) and Tom Mearns (6-2-0). ‘Ninja’ hopes to continue his winning streak on Bellator having fought for the promotion twice already.
The London Fight Factory standout will be hoping to take advantage of the local support he’ll bring behind him. The London based fighter snapped a four fight losing streak by clocking up wins against Chase Morton and Lewis Monarch in his recent outings.
Tom Mearns last graced the Bellator cage in May of last year where he picked up an injury midway through a grappling exchange with Mike Ekundayo. Whilst he has returned to winning ways in a recent bout on a smaller regional promotion Means will be keen to impress the Bellator higher ups as he seeks to stay with the organisation in pursuit of a longer term contract.
Tickets to Bellator London went on sale Friday, Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. BST and can be purchased online from axs.com/uk and Bellator.com.
Bellator London marks the sixth Bellator European Series event of 2019 and will air LIVE at 10 p.m. GMT on Channel 5 in the UK. In the U.S., the event will stream live on the Bellator Mobile App at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT.
