It is now official that Cathal Pendred (17-3-1) will face Englishman Tom Breese (8-0) at UFC Dublin on October 24th.
Last week it was confirmed that the event would be headlined by a fight between Joseph Duffy vs. Dustin Poirier and many expect the rest of the card to be filled with the UFC’s Irish contingent.
Pendred comes into this fight after suffering his first UFC loss, and his first loss since 2010, after he was on the wrong end of a judge’s decision to John Howard at UFC 189.
Breese is an undefeated fighter with a dangerous ground game. The 23-year-old made his name mainly in the BAMMA promotion but also fought in Cage Warriors. He then made his UFC debut earlier this year with a first round TKO win over Luiz Dutra in Brazil and maintaining his 100% finishing rate.
A very solid middleweight fight between Scott Askham and Krzysztof Jotko was also confirmed for the Dublin card as confirmed by the UFC UK twitter page.
