What a class act Irishman Cathal Pendred is. The Dubliner realised earlier this week found that his opponent from UFC Dublin, Mike King, failed a post-fight drug test and was subsequently awarded King’s portion of the bonuses.
The pair earned ‘Fight of the Night’ honours due to mainly Pendred’s incredible come from behind performance. As a result of learning of his unexpected income he vowed to donate some to a Children’s Hospital in Dublin.
It is quite a welcome change from the recent War Machine – Christy Mack – Dog The Bounty Hunter drama that has been happening this week. This isn’t the first time Pendred has done something incredibly positive. Earlier this year he helped a dolphin in trouble while out at the sea.
Pendred is next in action at UFC Sweden in October against Russian fighter Gasan Umalatov. Who knows what good deeds the 26-year-old will do next but he will find it tough topping what he has done.
