Final Fight Championship today announced that former UFC welterweight contender, Paul “Semtex” Daley is the newest member of the FFC roster.
Semtex has signed a 3 fight deal (excludes UK and Ireland) with the rising European promotion. It’s expected that Daley’s debut will happen in the first quarter of 2014. Daley will fight primarily in kick boxing matches but the promotion confirmed that MMA bouts will not be excluded.
FFC president Orsat Zovko commented on his new acquisition.
“After Cro Cop, Ricco Rodriguez, Eddie Sanchez and James McSweeney, we signed another super star fighter that fought in the UFC. Next year you will witness FFC expansion to other European markets and Middle East countries, so we have lots of plans for Paul Daley. At this moment we are negotiating deals with two more huge MMA stars and if we finalize this, I think we are on the right track for the next season of FFC.”
“Paul Daley is very talented fighter and his career would be much more successful if he didn’t have some problems with his character. But I have good and straight relationship with him from the beginning so I don’t think there will be any problems. FFC will make sure that we bring his career to higher level at this moment and I’m sure that this will be a big step for his return to the promotions that he belongs to – top world promotions”, Zovko stated.
Daley commented “I am extremely excited to be pursuing a re-birth to my career with FFC, starting initially with some exciting kickboxing match ups. I’m sure over the next 12 months our relationship will grow, and you will see much more of me with FFC, MMA and Kickboxing.”
