Last night BJ Penn appeared on ‘UFC Tonight’ to talk to Kenny Florian and Michael Bisping.
When the topic of Mike Dolce was broached the former two weight UFC champ responded by saying he’d come out of retirement and walk through Nik Lentz and then smash Dolce in the back.
Well Nik Lentz has snapped back at ‘The Prodigy’ on Instagram by saying he’d love to fight him and properly retire him.
“I don’t even and have not worked with Dolce for quite some time…so fighting with me will have nothing to do with Dolce…but for the record…fuck you BJ. You talk too much now…you use to be about actions, but now like the spoiled little rich kid you are, all you do is talk. I’ll gladly fight you anytime. So get your mom and daddy to paint you some plans, fly Hawaii out to Vegas, give little baby Penn what he wants and come out of retirement …. This time I’ll make sure to retire you properly.”
Penn last fought in July last year and churned in very lacklustre performance against Frankie Edgar, something he part blames Mike Dolce on. His last win came against an aging Matt Hughes in 2010. Lentz is currently 1-2 in his past three fights with losses coming against Chad Mendes and most recently Charles Oliveira.
Alan’s Angle: Just make the fight. It is a win-win for the UFC. If BJ Penn returns and wins then they essentially get a star back for at least one more marquee fight after that. However if Penn loses then Lentz gets a boost and finally scores a win over a big name fighter, something he has yet to do in his UFC career.
