Michael ‘Venom’ Page has been given a new assignment in Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos following the withdrawal of his original opponent, Fernando Gonzalez, for Bellator 158. Page will look to capitalize on his home field advantage when the bout takes place at London’s O2 Arena on July 16th.
The bout will hopefully silence critics who to date, after 10 MMA bouts and a flawless record, have insisted Page has yet to be tested. Santos is coming off a TKO loss to Saad Awad and will be keen to establish a win over the flamboyant and as yet unbeaten prospect. ‘Cyborg’ is a veteran of mixed martial arts and his record currently stands at 21 wins and 17 losses.
Sources close to the fighters have confirmed the bout will be formally announced by the promotion in the coming days, we will of course bring you all the up to date news as it happens.
Its an intriguing match up which will see the popular prospect clashing an experienced MMA veteran who has appeared on many promotions. It’s a welcome addition to a card that has had its fair share of major setbacks, pullouts and controversial additions.
