While McGregor is still a few weeks away from arguably one of his biggest tests against Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 196 for the Lightweight Title, speculation has begun as to whether or not a win could set McGregor up for a crack at the Welterweight strap.
And to add to that speculation, McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh told the42 he would absolutely support a move up to Welterweight for McGregor.
Aswell as McGregor’s coach supporting the potential move up to Welterweight, MMA media member Jeremy Botter is also in agreement that the fight could happen, even as early as UFC 200 should McGregor get past Dos Anjos.
I have a hunch that if McGregor beats RDA, the UFC 200 main event will be Robbie Lawler vs. Conor McGregor. Seems crazy. We'll see.
