Mark Kerr aka ‘The Smashing Machine’ was one of MMA’s pioneers in the heavyweight division. He competed in the UFC, winning two tournaments back to back (four fights in total in just a combined 5 minutes, 10 seconds), Pride, where he fought 11 times, and then various promotions before retiring in 2009 with a total record of 15-11 with 1NC.
Kerr was featured in the 2003 HBO documentary simply called ‘The Smashing Machine.’ It focused on Kerr’s personal life, addiction to drugs and MMA career.
In this excellent short movie, filmmaker Bobby Razak catches up with Kerr and talks about his past, life after fighting and his on going battle with addiction.
