KSW 47 sees a clash take place between two former KSW welterweight champions as Borys Mankowski returns against South African, Dricus Du Plessis in a bout that could have title implications. The pair were originally set to clash at KSW 41 for Mankowski’s title but Du Plessis got injured before the contest.
Mankowski ended up fighting Roberto Soldic on that same event in December of 2017 and lost the belt in a one-sided contest. Since then, he has been booked to fight twice but has picked up injuries on both occasions which has prevented him from competing. He will be hoping that it will be third time lucky this time around so that he is ready to show his skills come fight night and remind the fans of his standing within the division.
In his first fight since losing the title to Soldic at KSW 46 in London, former two weight EFC champion Du Plessis will look to put himself straight back among the title conversation. He has only fought Roberto Soldic since joining KSW in 2017 so having a different opponent will be a welcome change for the 24 year old.
KSW 47 takes place on Saturday 23rd March 2019 from the Atlas Arena in Lodz, Poland. The card will be headlined by a bout between former World’s Strongest Man, Mariusz Pudzianowski, and Olympic Gold Medalist Weightlifter, Szymon Kolecki.
The current KSW 47 fight card is:-
Heavyweight – Mariusz Pudzianowski v Szymon Kolecki
Welterweight – Borys Mankowski v Dricus Du Plessis
