Miesha Tate (13-4) is now just less than two weeks away from her hotly anticipated rematch with Ronda Rousey (7-0). The two have just come off TUF 18 as head coaches and will co-main event UFC 168 on December 28th in the MGM in Las Vegas.
The two are known for their disliking of each other and that was more than evident on The Ultimate Fighter with countless clashes between the two. Their first fight took place in Strikeforce in 2012 with Rousey winning by armbar at the end of the first round.
On AXS TV’s Inside MMA Tate said she could be recruiting the help of another foe of Rousey’s in Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino (formerly Santos).
“Yeah we’re working on it”, she said. “The problem is that she was travelling to Brazil..so I felt bad asking her to come back before Christmas, she was gonna spend that with her family. So it’s kinda up to her but of course I would love to have her, I think she is the best woman on this planet so if she wants to come in and help me with my camp she is more than welcome.”
“And the fact that she doesn’t like Ronda is kind of a bonus,” she added with a grin.
Rousey and Cyborg were tipped to face-off in the first ever women’s fight in the UFC but unfortunately they could not come to an agreement on weight and that fight was scrapped. See the full interview below.
