David “One More” Round put in one of the performances of his career this weekend at BCMMA 14, stepping in on 36 hours’ notice and stopping highly ranked Lightweight Sean “Sexy Curls” Carter.
Carter was originally due to fight Aldric Cassata, however, the Frenchman pulled out of the bout just 36 hours ahead of the event leaving Carter without an opponent.
Step forward, David Round who proved that he clearly lives the “Anyone, Anywhere” mantra.
Round’s manager Chris Clarke (The Fight Agency) recalled on his Facebook page exactly how the arrangement took place with getting Round onto the card;
Jack Mason (BCMMA Matchmaker) – Chris, wondered if you could help with x, y, z…
Chris Clarke – I can certainly try, can you send particulars…
Jack Mason – *sends particulars*
Chris Clarke- Yo Dave, there’s a fight in Colchester on Saturday…
David Round – I’ll go and get my hair cut
Chris Clarke – Sound…
Chris Clarke – Yo Jack, Dave is off to get his hair cut…
Jack Mason – What does that mean?
Chris Clarke – It means we’ll see you on Saturday night.
