UFC president Dana White revealed during a recent Periscope (a new social media platform) that he is to start filming a new TV pilot for a new show with Matt Serra and Nick The Tooth.
“Next weekend, me, Nick the Tooth, Matt Serra and some other people start a new reality show. We start filming next Saturday,” said White.
Former welterweight champ Matt Serra is one of the most beloved fighting personalities. He took centre stage on the TUF: Comeback series due to his humour and he eventually went onto winning the show and then the title defeating GSP. In the years since he did various filming for the UFC including visiting gyms and talking with fighters.
Nick The Tooth, a life-long friend of White, came onto the scene a couple of years ago where he took over Dana White’s video blogs for the UFC and the cameras followed him around during his various adventure backstage at UFC events and HQ. One such adventure lead him to being submitted by Joe Lauzon repeatedly in the Octagon.
The Dana White video blogs have stopped in recent years and have been replaced by the popular ‘Embedded’ videos but White said the show would be similar to the video blogs and it will be on TV rather than Fight Pass on YouTube.
“We’re shooting the pilot for it next Saturday. For the people that love the video blogs this should do it for you,” White said. “The reality show will be on TV. I don’t know where yet, but it will be on TV.”
