Cyborg wins in less than a minute, says Rousey fight will happen

A lot of eyes were on Invicta 11 last night as Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justine (13-1, 1 NC) made the first defense of her featherweight title. Even the Dana White and Lorenzo Fertitta were in attendance.

Cyborg faced Canadian veteran Charmaine Tweet (6-5) in the main event. Invicta 11 coincided with UFC 184, happening later tonight, in Los Angeles. Both events featured arguably the number 1 and number 2 ranked fighters in all of women’s MMA, bitter rivals, Ronda Rousey and ‘Cyborg’ herself.

A bit of attention was put on the fact that Rousey defeated Tweet in her first professional fight in just 49 seconds and people were using this to measure how Cyborg would fair. Well the Brazilian beat Rousey by 3 seconds and stopped Tweet with punches just 46 seconds into their affair, the first time the Canadian has been finished since facing Rousey.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani after the fight she stated that moving down to 135lbs is in her mind but her next fight, which happens in June, will still be at 145lbs. However, the 29-year-old did say that the Rousey fight will happen at some stage.
